Photography & Filming at Lippitt House Museum

Lippitt House Museum is a choice location for photographers and cinematographers looking for luxurious historic settings. In addition to educational and commercial projects, the Museum makes a lovely setting for family portraits, school portraits and engagement shoots.
Located on Providence’s historic East Side, Lippitt House is conveniently located near hotels, B&Bs, transportation, and is within walking distance of many city attractions, as well as Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design.
Photography Session Rental:
There is an hourly fee for photographers or clients to use the Museum's interior and garden for photography sessions.
Photo Session includes access to both indoor spaces and the Museum grounds. Additional hours may be contracted.
5 people or less with no extra equipment
$200/hour
More than 5 people or with extra equipment, extra load-in, or set-up requirements
$500/hour

Contracts: A written agreement must be executed and payment received prior to commencement of shoot.

Film Shoots and Commercial Photography
Review Process: Lippitt House Museum considers commercial and editorial inquiries. Approval of a request is dependent on many factors including the appropriateness of the project’s association with Lippitt House Museum and Preserve Rhode Island, scheduling, production and crew size, conservation concerns, and availability of staff and resources.
Contracts
A written agreement must be executed and payment received prior to commencement of a shoot.
Insurance
All shoots require a minimum general commercial liability insurance policy (including coverage for bodily injury, property damage, and personal and advertising injury) in the amount of $2,000,000, naming the Lippitt House Museum and Preserve Rhode Island as additional insured.
City Permits
Exterior shoots that impact the city streets or sidewalks may require a Providence city permit from the appropriate jurisdiction.
