Lippitt House Museum is a choice location for photographers and cinematographers looking for luxurious historic settings. In addition to educational and commercial projects, the Museum makes a lovely setting for family portraits, school portraits and engagement shoots.
Located on Providence’s historic East Side, Lippitt House is conveniently located near hotels, B&Bs, transportation, and is within walking distance of many city attractions, as well as Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design.
Review Process
Lippitt House Museum considers commercial and
editorial inquiries. Approval of a request is dependent
on many factors including the appropriateness of the
project’s association with Lippitt House Museum and
Preserve Rhode Island, scheduling, production and
crew size, conservation concerns, and availability
of staff and resources.
Fees
A one (1) hour photography or filming session is $500,
which includes access to both indoor spaces and the
Museum grounds. Additional hours may be contracted.
Contracts
A written agreement must be executed and payment received prior to commencement of a shoot.
Insurance
All shoots require a minimum general commercial liability insurance policy (including coverage for bodily injury, property damage, and personal and advertising injury) in the amount of $2,000,000, naming the Lippitt House Museum and Preserve Rhode Island as additional insured.

City Permits
Exterior shoots that impact the city streets or sidewalks may require a Providence city permit from the appropriate jurisdiction.
