Repairs Project

Most pressing at the Dexter House is the need for the wood-shingled roof to be replaced.  The roof has reached the end of its life expectancy and has started to develop leaks in several areas.  An emergency tarp was installed on the most troublesome section in the winter of 2009. In spring 2009 the main house was reshingled, however fundraising continues to address the reshingling of the ell.  Additional work is also needed to repair two, second floor windows, repaint the exterior of the house and to address various issues with the walkways and steps outside.

The Dexter House is the headquarters of Preserve Rhode Island and houses the organization's primary staff members - making it important that these issues are addressed as quickly as possible.
