Preservation Services

Need assistance with a historic place?

Preserve Rhode Island (PRI) has received a Partners in the Field Challenge Grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to expand PRI's preservation field services.  The program brings staff representing both Preserve Rhode Island and the National Trust for Historic Preservation into cities and towns throughout the state.  PRI and the National Trust have teamed up to leverage a better outcome than either organization could achieve on its own.  Field services staff have access to the information and capacity of both organizations as they promote the preservation and stewardship of Rhode Island's distinctive and vibrant communities.

The Field Services Program strives to:

(1) ADVISE:  provide preservation information, assistance and workable alternatives to protect Rhode Island's historic structures and unique places;

(2) CONNECT: convene and strengthen community preservation organizations; and

(3) ADVOCATE: encourage community leaders, developers, public officials and property owners to make decisions that favor historic preservation and land conservation.
