Classical guitarists Mark and Beverly Davis join the 2009 Hunter Music Series to perform pieces from their first CD "Ayres and Dances for Two Guitars," a Best Local CD of the Year nominee in Motif Magazine. The Davis' have performed together since 2001 and
are praised for the intensity of their performances and ability to communicate with audiences.
Drawing from the large international repertoire for two guitars by contemporary composers such as Ed Flower, Andrew York, Francine Trester, Robert Martel, and Milan Tesar, Mark and Beverly have chosen music based on the qualities of musical interest, dialogue and emotional depth. Come hear their recent repertoire addition of original mandolin and guitar pieces from composers such as Peter Ostroushko and Jacob do Bandolim.
